APH OC- Armenia -Revised-

Okay, I decided to change somethings on Armenia's design (mainly her skin tone). I think she looks a bit young now, but oh well :

- Personality -

Armenia is a quite nice and well-behaved country, earning a reputation for Armenian hospitality. She normally makes friends with other countries, excluding her neighbors- Turkey and Azerbaijan. She generally loves to cook, plays various sports, loves music, the arts, and the like. Although she can be very protective of her culture from time to time. She also sometimes gets angry and puts on a 'Kol-face' (given to her by Russia XD) but quickly goes back to normal. She also has a tendency to say 'Ara' a lot.

- Country Relations -
Armenia is generally friendly with almost every country in the world, of course, excluding Turkey and Azerbaijan. She is still upset at Turkey for not acknowledging the Armenian Genocide in 1915, and despite all her efforts to try to get diplomatic relations set up with him, he refuses all the time. Despite this, he was the 3rd formal country to recognize her independence from the Soviet Union.

She and Azerbaijan also have high-running tensions between them. After both of them left the USSR, they started fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh, resulting in the Nagorno-Karabakh War, which is currently in a ceasefire.

However, two of her biggest military allies are Greece and Russia.

She and Greece grew up together and have known each other since B.C. times. Because of this, she tends to call Greece "Brother" and he usually returns it by calling her "Sister". He really wants her to join the EU.

Russia was the one who "saved her from Turkey". She generally enjoyed her time in the Soviet, but didn't like the fact that his boss gave NK to Azerbaijan. She and Russia are still friends and great allies though. She is oblivious to his scary nature and is usually confused whenever someone tells her that he is scary.

She also has a very friendly relationship with Romania, as he was the first nation to recognize her independence from the USSR. She likes talking to him, although she does note his eccentric behavior.

Her relations with America are friendly, even though there is controversy about recognizing the Genocide in his home. Also, he was the one who brought democracy into Armenia, causing her to become a republic.

- History -

Armenia is one of the oldest nations in the world. Her mother was known as the Kingdom of Urartu, which ruled during the Iron Age. After her mother left, Armenia established another kingdom, which was eventually taken over by Achaemenian Iran. Then, due to invasions from Alexander the Great, she was taken over and became part of the Hellenic world.

In 189 B.C. she became a state known as Greater Armenia and was ruled by the Artashesian dynasty. She reached her peak of power during rule under Tigran the Great in the 1st century B.C. She ended up being the third largest empire of the Near East, after Rome and Parthia. During this time, a time for trading and the arts, as well as the construction of cities. A Greek philosopher stated that people only spoke one language at the time. This kingdom survived for 600 years.

In 301 A.D. Armenia became the first state to accept Christianity as a national religion. A while after that, she found herself in between Rome and Parthia's fights-her land being right in the battlefield. During all of this, her land was split into two parts, East and West Armenia by the time the fourth century came. Then, in 405 A.D., the Armenian language was developed.

During the beginning of the Middle Ages, she was split between Byzantium and Iran. Then, the Arab Kingdom takes over her entire land. After numerous rebellions against the Arab Kingdom, she finally gained a degree of independence. She even gained a king from her own land.

Then, after numerous invasions by multiple people, she eventually became the Armenian kingdom of Cilicia. This kingdom served as an outpost for the Crusades until Egyptian Mameluks destroyed it.

After that, the Ottoman Empire (AKA Turkey) took over. For two centuries, Turkey and Iran fought for control over her. After a while, Iran took some of her land, leaving her in the care of Turkey. Then, Russia annexed some of her land into his own. From 1915-1917, Turkey then killed 1.5 million of her people and tortured Armenia, creating the Armenian diaspora from the refugees and those who were exiled, and mentally scarring her for life.

In 1918, she became a republic for about 2 and a half years, before going to join the Soviet Union to gain protection from Turkey provided by Russia. From 1941 to 1945 she along with other USSR members fought in WWII. About 600,000 Armenians went to war, and about 400,000 soldiers return to Armenia.

Finally, on August 23, 1990 Armenia proclaimed independence, and on September 21st, 1991 she was officially a country.

WOW, this was REALLY long. Even longer than the other profile...man, her history is long, even if fit was just a summary sorry.
